Day 1

Arrival to Baltra

After arriving in the Galapagos Islands, you will travel independently from Baltra Airport to Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. The transfer is arranged on your own using the public shuttle bus, the ferry across the Itabaca Channel and a taxi or bus onwards to Puerto Ayora.

In the afternoon you meet your tour guide and fellow travellers and receive information about the upcoming days in the Galapagos Islands.

Charles-Darwin research station

Afterwards you visit the Charles Darwin Research Station on Santa Cruz Island. Here you gain insight into scientific projects and conservation programmes dedicated to protecting the unique wildlife of the Galapagos Islands. The giant tortoise breeding centre is a particular highlight.

Day 1 - 2

Overnight in Santa Cruz

Overnight stay in a selected hotel in Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island.

Day 2

Las Grietas excursion

You will visit the impressive rock formations of Las Grietas on Santa Cruz Island. After a short walk you reach the natural lagoon with its crystal-clear waters, offering ideal conditions for swimming and snorkelling. Along the way you pass cactus landscapes and small saltwater lagoons.

Speedboat transfer Santa Cruz – Floreana

Afterwards you travel by public speedboat from Santa Cruz Island to Floreana Island. During the crossing you enjoy views of the Galapagos Islands’ volcanic landscapes.

Day 2 - 4

Overnight in Floreana

Overnight stay in a selected hotel on Floreana Island.

During your stay on Floreana you overnight in a community-run guesthouse and enjoy meals in local restaurants. Your visit directly supports a sustainable tourism project run by the island community.

Day 3

La Lobería and Highlands of Floreana

oday you explore Floreana Island. First you walk along the black-sand beach of La Lobería, where sea lions, marine iguanas and various seabird species can often be observed. Afterwards you visit the lush highlands of the island and learn more about the fascinating history of the early settlers and the mysterious stories surrounding Floreana. Descendants of the first settlers still live on the island today.

The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Floreana Island or explore the surroundings independently.

Day 4

Speedboat transfer from Floreana to Isabela

In the morning you travel by public speedboat from Floreana Island to Isabela Island. During the crossing you enjoy wide views of the archipelago’s volcanic scenery.

Sierra Negra Volvano hike

After arriving on Isabela Island you set out on a hike at Sierra Negra Volcano. The trail leads through impressive volcanic landscapes to viewpoints overlooking one of the world’s largest volcanic craters. Along the way you see extensive lava fields and gain insight into the geological formation of the Galapagos Islands.

Day 4 - 6

Overnight in Isabela

Leisure time Isabela

The morning is at leisure. Optional excursions are available on Isabela Island, including boat trips and snorkelling activities.

Visit the Turtle Breeding Center & Flamingo Lagoon

In the afternoon you visit the giant tortoise breeding centre on Isabela Island and learn more about conservation programmes protecting the giant tortoises of the Galapagos Islands. Afterwards you walk to the flamingo lagoon and along several coastal areas of the island.

Day 6

Speedboat transfer from Isabela to Santa Cruz

Return journey by speedboat from Isabela to Santa Cruz. During the crossing you can once again enjoy the vast Pacific Ocean and scenic island views.

Excursion to Tortuga Bay

Afterwards you walk to Tortuga Bay with its white sandy beach and turquoise waters. Enjoy time for swimming, relaxing or optional activities such as kayaking or surfing lessons.

Day 6 - 7

Overnight in Santa Cruz.

Day 7

End of the trip

Today your group tour in the Galapagos Islands comes to an end. Your onward journey is arranged independently from Puerto Ayora via the Itabaca Channel to Baltra Airport.
